The main association of sworn and court- certified experts in Austria , also known as the main association of court experts for short , is the central umbrella association of court experts in Austria. He safeguards the interests of the experts working at courts throughout Austria. However, there is no membership requirement for experts. The president of the main association is Matthias Rant.

history

The statutes of an "Association of permanently sworn experts and appraisers" were passed on January 7, 1912 by a proponent committee. The election of the board of directors (presidium) was reported to the kk police department on March 30, 1912 (President: August von Loehr ). Since 1914 the association has called itself: "Committee of permanently sworn judicial experts and appraisers Vienna". On December 15, 1933, the name was changed to “Main Association of permanently sworn judicial experts and appraisers in Austria”. On July 6, 1938, the “main association of permanently sworn judicial experts and appraisers in Austria” was forcibly dissolved.

On June 25, 1945, the first meeting of a proponent committee for the re-establishment of the “Main Association of permanently sworn judicial experts and appraisers in Austria” took place. The main association was approved on February 15, 1946 by the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Security. In 1975 the association was renamed "Main Association of Generally Sworn Judicial Experts in Austria".

The regional association of Tyrol and Vorarlberg was founded in 1970, the regional association of Upper Austria in 1971 and the regional association of Styria in 1972 to relieve the main association and in the interests of federalization . The regional association of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland was founded in 1975. Extraordinary members have been the Federal Guild of Motor Vehicle Technicians since 1982, the Austrian Association of Sworn and Court-Certified Interpreters since 1995 and the Association for Mediation of Proceedings Pending in Court since 2011.

In 1992, the professional code of conduct of the experts, which had already been passed, was decided by the assembly of delegates to be binding and, with the decree of the Ministry of Justice, declared decisive.

In 1998 the main association of the European Organization for Expert Associations ("EuroExpert"), which operates across the EU, became a full member.

Organ of publication

The main association has been publishing the magazine “Sachverektiven” since 1976. Linde Verlag is the media owner and publisher . The editor is Harald Krammer, formerly President of the Higher Regional Court of Vienna. The magazine is intended to represent and publish the interests of the experts in Austria.

The magazine is divided into:

  • Technical articles;
  • Lectures on relevant judicial and official decisions and findings;
  • Special topics;
  • Information on advanced training events;
  • References to relevant literature.
