The house Böttrich is an important historical town house in Warburg , Germany . It is located at Sternstrasse 13, was built between 1558 and 1560 and is designated as a cultural monument .

architecture

The house was built as a uniform three-storey building in half-timbered construction. The front part contains a two-storey Flettdeele with two low lights, a fireplace built in around 1600 and a wooden spiral staircase that leads to the rear building and the storage floors. The rear building extends over the entire width of the house and consists of a large cellar with a transverse barrel vault and a hall. The upper floor, protruding on all sides, extends over both parts and was originally - like the roof levels - used as storage. The street gable protrudes three more times each floor.

From the outside the framework looks very strong with up to 30 cm wide posts. The entire framework is decorated with Renaissance ornaments. The sleepers and fillers are decorated with twisted pearl rods and chamfers. The stands and struts carry fan-shaped and palm-shaped decorative elements.

history

The building was erected from 1558 (inscription in the lintel of the vaulted cellar window) to 1560 (inscription above the portal). The client is unknown.

In the 18th century the building was acquired by the Böttrich family, who provided several mayors of the Neustadt. The family that still exists looks back on the following lineage:

After the death of the last family members living there, the city of Warburg purchased the property to demolish the house and build a parking lot there. In 1980 it was rebuilt and renovated as the center of the Neustadt parish of St. Johannes Baptista .
