The former feudal estate Haus Brockhausen was located on today's plane tree avenue in the Unna district of Königsborn , which developed over the centuries around the original manor from the 14th century.

history

According to a document, a knight Godert or Godekin van Molhuson (meaning Mühlhausen ) bought the Brockhausen House on April 22, 1361, which was formerly known as "Wilravengut" . On May 13, 1361, Knight Godekin was initially enfeoffed with the Brockhausen estate by the Abbess of Essen Monastery , before it passed into his ownership by March 2, 1372. From September 17, 1423 it was fiefdom owned by a knight Ludeken van Ulffersen (= Uelzen ) for seven years . Since then it has been managed as an estate by changing families over the centuries.

In 1751 the Prussian legal advisor Zahn acquired the property in connection with the Königsborn salt works . In 1788, through his marriage to Elisabeth Sophia Friederike, nee Zahn, the royal Prussian war and domain councilor Christian Friedrich Meyer became the owner of the fief and founded the Westphalian Natural Research Society in Brockhausen here in 1798.

Around 1850 the Brockhausen house was transferred to Schulzen Röchling.

It was demolished in the early 1950s. In 1952, the then agricultural chamber of Westphalia-Lippe bought the farm area and the surrounding pasture land in order to set up an agricultural teaching and experimental farm, so that from 1954 to 1983 the teaching and research institute for small animal breeding Unna, which was also known beyond Unna, was located on the former estate -Königsborn extended.

The Brockhausen Oberhof in Afferde , which is still preserved today, is to be distinguished from the Brockhausen house .
