The house Noetzlin is under monument protection standing villa in Wuppertal district Elberfeld .

The building, Am Buschhäuschen 70 , is located in the Briller district on a prominent corner on Katernberger Straße at the confluence with Am Buschhäuschen street . The owner of the representative house built in 1911 was the businessman and factory owner Ernst Noetzlin . Noetzlin, who was co-owner of the company de Weerth & Co., had bought the property probably as early as 1906. It was planned by the government builder and architect Heinrich Plange , who was responsible for numerous villas in the district. One can assume that Noetzlin was a Swiss citizen - because the villa was protected from confiscation by the Allies during or shortly after the end of the war by means of a “Swiss badge”. After Ernst Noetzlin's death, his son and heir sold the villa on in 1954, and his family still owns the building today. The villa was expanded and remodeled by the new owner in the 1950s.

Description of the building

The two-storey building with a hipped roof in the neoclassical - neo-baroque style has a rectangular floor plan with a single-storey annex on the side. This extension, with a mansard roof , was reserved for utility rooms, typical of the upper-class, suburban houses of the time. The front side facing the street is particularly representative with ashlar masonry, and a driveway leads to the entrance itself. The central entrance is equipped with a small portico and rises on two pillars and two fluted columns. This protects the segmented entrance to the house, which is accessible from the upper floor through a three-part, glazed door with a skylight . This exit is secured by a wrought iron railing.

Behind the building, the property is designed like a park. Here is a garden pavilion with an octagonal floor plan.

On February 25, 1992 the villa, including the enclosure and the garden pavilion, was placed under monument protection.
