The House Pflüger in Bouxwiller , a town in the Bas-Rhin in the French region of Alsace , is a half-timbered house from the mid- 17th century . The building, which has been a listed building ( Monument historique ) since 1930, is located at No. 29 Grand Rue.

history

The building was built for the dealer Hans Georg Pflüger, who traded in rope goods. His coat of arms and his initials HGP are on the door of the house. These can also be seen on the facade together with his wife's initials, MAP for Marie Agathe Pflüger, and the year 1667 . The windows on the ground floor were later changed.

architecture

The narrow and elongated house is located between two streets. The decorative facade faces the Grand Rue and impresses with its large, two-story bay window , which is covered by a helmet . The pentagonal bay window is adorned with curved St. Andrew's crosses with noses. The corners are carved and depict mythical creatures and grapevines. Other decorative shapes on the facade are lozenges and man figures .
