House Ternell was a former forest and customs house and is now a nature information center belonging to Eupen on the edge of the High Fens .

General and location

The Nature Center Ternell / CRIE Eupen is an educational institution of the German-speaking Community of Belgium for the topic of nature conservation and nature-related public relations. Since 1999 it has also been recognized as the Regional Center for Environmental Education of the Wallonia Region (CRIE: Center Régional d'Initiation à l'Environnement de la Région Wallonne ). Ternell is centrally located in the middle of the German-Belgian nature park Eifel and in the immediate vicinity of the nature reserve Hohes Venn .

The Ternell Nature Center is located on the Eupen- Monschau road on the ridge between the Hilltal and the Getzbachtal .

tourism

Haus Ternell is a tourist attraction and starting point for hikes in the High Fens. In winter, Ternell has a ski rental station and is the starting point for three groomed circular trails and a trail connection to Sourbrodt .

On weekends and public holidays, the 385 bus runs from Eupen train station to Monschau and on Saturdays to Kalterherberg.
