House Wichelhausen
The Wichelhausen house is located in Bremen , Mitte district , Violenstraße 11. It was built in 1805.
The building has been a listed building in Bremen since 1973 .
history
The three-storey, plastered, three-axle house with a saddle roof and a classicist gable was built in 1805 in the classicist era for the merchant Otto Wichelhausen. Wichelhausen came from an old family that also provided a mayor for Bremen in the 19th century . The restaurant Zur alten Bierstube was in the house for a long time. Next to it are the narrow residential building Violenstrasse 9 and the residential and commercial building Violenstrasse 13 .
Today (2018) the renovated building is used for apartments and offices.
The Violenstrasse was named after the plant genus violets (Viola).
