history

Entrance detail

The small, three-storey, clinkered, two-axle, deep corner house with a hipped roof and a pronounced eaves cornice was built in 1894 in the era of historicism in the neo-renaissance style as a residential building with a beer hall for Hermann Friedrich Pieper. There are stone heads above the four windows. The existing house was demolished beforehand. Since the intention was to widen the Buchtstraße, the building line of the new building has already been set back. Opposite is the large courthouse in the same style . Next to it are house Wichelhausen and house Violenstrasse 13 as No. 11 .
Today (2018) the renovated building is used by the corner bar Leinen Los , apartments and offices.

The Violenstrasse was named after the plant genus violets (Viola).
