House from Laubach
The house from Laubach is a half-timbered house from Laubach in Central Hesse and is now in the Hessenpark in Neu-Anspach . The house shows an exhibition of German and international tower clocks .
building
The two-storey half-timbered house from 1666 was built on a base made of rubble stones. The house, which presumably served a master craftsman as a place of residence and work, names the builder on a bar inscription:
"The builder is called the master of this house, Johannes Triebert his name (me) is well known"
Above the ornamented door, a Latin inscription wishes the visitor:
"Peace to those entering, good to those who are leaving"
The left high cellar was presumably used as a stable for small livestock.
In 1977 the house was dismantled at the original location and the Hesse Park translocated . In 1982 the oldest building group, the market square, was rebuilt there. The neighboring house in Hessenpark contains the tower clockworks town from Groß-Umstadt, opposite is the Hessian watchmaking school .
exhibition
The house from Laubach includes an exhibition of tower clocks. The oldest exhibit, a tower clock from Thwaites & Reed from London , Clerkenwell, dates from 1817. In addition, there are tower clocks from JF Weule , Eduard Korfhage & Sons , Johann Georg Pfaffenberger , Benedikt Schneider and Sons (Schonach in the Black Forest) , JJ Fuchs & Sohn , Johann Mannhardt , Paul Vortmann and Bernhard and Karl Saam, Themar.
