House of Youth Law

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In a House of Youth Law , several state and municipal bodies work together in a coordinated manner in order to deal with and prevent juvenile delinquency quickly.

After juvenile delinquency reached a new high in Germany in the mid-1990s, the first house of youth law was designed in Stuttgart as a nationwide pilot project and opened in 1999.

It is characteristic that the responsible officers from the police , public prosecutor's office , juvenile court assistance and court are housed under one roof in order to guarantee short contact channels. Organizational changes are also made, such as the switch from the crime scene to the residence principle and the expansion of the responsibility of a processor for all criminal offenses, from simple to serious cases.

The House of Youth Law is now considered a successful model and was introduced after Baden-Württemberg in 2005 in Rhineland-Palatinate , in 2009 in North Rhine-Westphalia , 2010 in Hesse and 2015 in Saxony .
