Havøysund [ havœʏsʉn ] (German translation: "Narrow by the sea island") is the administrative center of the municipality of Måsøy and is located in northern Norway in the north of the administrative district ( Fylke ) Troms og Finnmark .

The village is located on the island of Havøya ("sea island") almost exactly at 71 degrees north latitude. It was first mentioned in 1668 (in a tax list) and in the 18th century only counted between three and seven households. Today Havøysund has about 1200 inhabitants.
The main economic source of income has always been fishing, which has gained supraregional importance, especially since the Second World War .

Havøysund is visited daily by the Hurtigruten ships. Havøysund has been linked to the Porsanger peninsula and thus to the mainland by a bridge since 1988 .
Attractions
- Near the village is since 2002 the most northerly wind farm in the world, consisting of 16 wind turbines of the type Nordex N80 with a total output of 40 MW. By means of repowering , the wind farm is to be replaced by nine Vestas V117-4.2 MW turbines by the end of 2021 and annual energy generation is to be increased.
- Nearby is one of the largest bird cliffs in Northern Norway, the Hjelmsøystauren
- Nearby is the supposedly northernmost birch forest in the world.
