Haworthia truncata is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodil family (Asphodeloideae).

description

Haworthia truncata grows without a stem and sprouts slowly. The ten to twelve suddenly trimmed leaves are arranged in two rows on the shoot . The dark gray-green leaf blade is 1.2 to 4 inches wide and 0.3 to 1 inch thick. The semi-translucent end surfaces are flat to little furrowed. The leaf surface is rough. There are tiny warts on it.

The inflorescence reaches a length of up to 20 centimeters and consists of 20 to 30 flowers . The flowers are veined white and brownish.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia truncata is widespread in the South African province of Western Cape in the Little Karoo .

The first description by Selmar Schönland was published in 1910.

A distinction is made between the following varieties :

  • Haworthia truncata var. Truncata
  • Haworthia truncata var. Maughanii (Poelln.) B.Fearn
