The Haystack Mountain is about 1000 m high mountain on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the northeastern Gonville and Caius Range, it rises 2.5 km east of Mount England .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott mapped and named him. Name derives from the rounded top of the mountain which is a haystack ( English haystack ) recalls.
