Headshot is a German thrash metal band from Braunschweig .

history

The band was founded in 1993 by guitarist Olaf Danneberg, bassist Steffen Keuchel and drummer Till Hartmann in Braunschweig. Since Till Hartmann was still busy with two other band projects, Moritz Hoffmeister got on the drums for him, and Andi Bruer became the new singer. The debut album Brain at Risk was released in 1996 and received wide attention in the Braunschweig metal community because of its extreme and brutal style. Over the years, Headshot achieved a status as "the Braunschweig Metal Band" through numerous concerts nationwide.

With their second CD Emotional Overload under Gutter Records , the band made the leap across the Atlantic. Pavement Music licensed the album for trade in the United States, where the band had further success with it. In addition, bassist Matze Grün (Ex Square Waves / Protector) replaced Steffen Keuchel. In 2000 drummer Till Hartmann returned to the band.

In February 2003 her third studio album Diseased was released . The reviews in numerous fanzines are without exception good and Headshot certified that their album was well received by the fans. In 2003 the band hired Henrik Osterloh as their second permanent guitarist. Sven Nothdurft played bass for a year from 2004, before he was permanently replaced by Stefan Stürmer.

In 2008 the band signed a deal with Firefield Records for their new album As Above, So Below , which was released on May 30, 2008. The band also celebrated great success with As Above, So Below , after which a tour through Germany was started.

Shortly before the release, longtime singer Andi Bruer left the band for personal reasons. A short time later, however, a replacement was found in Daniela Karrer (Ex Square Waves / Uppercut). In 2010, Headshot went to the studio to record a new record with the current line-up. The album Synchronicity was released on May 21, 2011. With 11th place in the Richter scale of Rock Hard Magazine, the band just missed the Dynamit CD. At the end of 2011 bassist Stefan Stürmer left the band and was replaced by Max Hunger (also Deny the Urge).

style

The band is based heavily on the Thrash Metal of the 1980s from the San Francisco Bay Area .
