action

A prologue shows how the gangster boss Lee breaks out of a prison; Numerous guards and inmates are killed in the resulting shooting.

An unconscious man was found one morning on the beach on a small island in Indonesia and was taken to the local hospital. After two months in a coma and receiving treatment from the local doctor Ailin, he regains consciousness. However, he has no precise memories and takes the name Ishmael (inspired by the book Moby-Dick , which Ailin read at the bedside).

Meanwhile, Lee meets his henchmen Rika and Besi in a warehouse with a rival gang. A dispute ensues, with almost all of the opposing gang members being killed by the three. One of the survivors tries to save his head by telling Lee about Ishmael. Lee sends the man to the hospital for more information. When he threatens Ailin there, Ishmael stands in front of her and drives him away.

Shortly afterwards, Ailin takes the bus to the capital to organize better medical care for Ishmael than the conditions in the island hospital would allow. Lee's men stop the bus and kill everyone except Ailin and a young girl, who kidnap them both. Ailin manages to call Ishmael, who rushes to the scene of the crime, where some gang members had stayed, to set fire to the bus and cover up traces. Ishmael kills the men and is then arrested by the arriving police. An Interpol agent who has been investigating Lee for some time, explains Ishmael his approach; Lee kidnaps young children and systematically educates them to become smugglers and murderers. Photographs show that Ishmael was one of these children (and was named Abdi there). During the interrogation, Lee's men attack the police station and kill all police officers present. But Ishmael succeeds in killing the attacker and flees.

To save Ailin, Ishmael must take up the fight against the gang. He locates the area where Lee is hiding and meets Besi, who was also kidnapped as a child and grew up with Ishmael. Ishmael tries to pull him to his side, but Besi remains loyal to Lee and is killed by Ishmael in a duel.

Shortly afterwards he meets Rika, who was also kidnapped by Lee when she was a young girl. A fight develops with her as well, during which part of his memory returns: Ishmael had tried to get out of Lee's gang, whereupon Rika had fired at Ishmael on a jetty on Lee's orders (under the false assumption that Ishmael had fallen into the water died thereby). But she doesn't have the heart to shoot him a second time and empties the magazine without aiming at Ishmael. But he misinterprets the situation, kills her with a throwing knife and realizes too late that she had no intention of killing him.

Meanwhile at headquarters one of Lee's men tries to rape Ailin. With the help of the little girl, she manages to kill the man and takes his rifle with which she shoots several of the gang members. She meets Ishmael, who has meanwhile broken into the hiding place. Lee arrives and is furious that Ishmael killed Rika and Besi (according to Lee, his siblings). They fight with each other and Ishmael manages to kill Lee after a long fight.

In the final scene you can see Ailin and Ishmael recovering from their injuries in the hospital and looking forward to their future together.
