Alexander James Adams (born in the San Francisco Bay Area , California as Heather Alexander ) is an American singer , musician ( guitar , fiddle and bodhran ) and song composer of Celtic and World music . He often brings mythical or fantasy-related as well as traditionally Irish themes to his appearances. Known in the field of filk music, he often appears as a soloist and together with his band ("Uffington Horse") at conventions . B. OryCon , Norwescon , Further Confusion (2004 and 2005), Eurofurence (2005 and 2006), CascadiaCon (2006). In October 2006, Adams underwent gender reassignment .
