Way of life
The animal's habitat is unique among fleas: the flea lives in the nasal cavity and under the tongue of parrots. The scientists discovered it in chicks of the small rock parakeet on the Patagonian cliffs of Argentina .

His discovery was announced in 2007 by research groups at the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Radolfzell on Lake Constance , the German Entomological Institute in Müncheberg and the University of Canterbury in Christchurch ( New Zealand ).
