The house at Hegelstraße 8 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the west side of Hegelstrasse in Magdeburg's old town . To the north is the house Hegelstrasse 6, 7 , to the south the house is Hegelstrasse 9 .

Architecture and history

The four-and-a-half-storey building was completed in 1881 based on a design by master mason Thiele for the client Schwieger and is designed in the neo-renaissance style. The facade of the house is heavily rusticated on the lower two floors . There are also profiled cornices . The roof protrudes clearly, there are console stones and a serrated frieze . The window openings on the ground floor and on the third floor are designed as round arches. On the third floor there are fluted pilasters and composite capitals at the window openings .

As part of the street that has largely been preserved from the construction period, the building is relevant to urban planning.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 16675 .
