The Heideaniedlung is part of the Wiener Neustadt municipality in Lower Austria .

The settlement is located 8 km north-west of Wiener Neustadt and represents a separate district. The Heideaniedlung (and Theresienfeld ) was created around 1770, when the hut pastures of Wiener Neustadt were released for settlement. The settlers were supposed to cultivate the wasteland and for this purpose laid their rifles along the Tirolerbach , which served to supply Theresienfeld with water. However, the yield from the cultivation was low, as they were refused to draw water from the Tirolerbach. Around 1850, the district administration saw the Heideaniedlung (18 houses) as not viable and tried several times to merge it with Steinabrückl , which was never implemented. The Wöllersdorfer Munitionsfabrik brought a brief upswing around 1910 (36 houses), but in the 1970s the municipal road was closed and the settlement was forgotten. One attempt at revitalization was the construction of a modern residential complex on William Congreve Street ( William Congreve , British artillery officer and engineer) from the year 2000 onwards Residents made the satellite settlement . Following a citizens' initiative , the city government has been making serious efforts since 2017 to integrate the district and make it fit for the future through modern spatial planning .
