Heidi Emmert

Heidi Emmert (* 1966 in Würzburg ) is a German organist and music teacher.

Life and professional activity

Heidi Emmert was a young student at the University of Music in Würzburg with Günther Kaunzinger while she was still in school . She then studied church music and organ at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold as well as in Paris and Rochester with Gerhard Weinberger , Marie-Claire Alain and Russell Saunders . In 1990 she passed the A-exam in Detmold. She finished her studies in Paris and Rueil-Malmaison with the predicate "Prix d'excellence" and "Prix de virtuosité à l'unanimité avec félicitations".

She then won numerous organ competitions such as the ARD competition , the International Organ Week in Nuremberg and the Mendelssohn competition in Berlin. In 1991 she was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Young Artists.

From 1993 to 1995 she was a lecturer for organ at the Detmold University of Music. From 1994 she was a lecturer for organ literature and liturgical organ playing at the University for Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg. In 2003 she was appointed professor there.

As part of her concert activities, she toured the USA, Canada and Japan in addition to other European countries. She premiered contemporary works and can be heard on radio and CD recordings.

She lives in Regensburg.
