Heidi Greni (born July 3, 1962 in Holtålen ) is a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp). She has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2011 .

Life

After finishing school in 1987, Greni started working in a grocery store in Ålen , Holtålen municipality . She worked there until 2011. From 2003 to 2019 she was a member of the local parliament of Holtålen, and in 2011 she was elected mayor. This made her the first female mayor of the town after 104 years who was not a member of the social democratic workers' party . However, she only stayed in this office for a short time, as she was active in the Norwegian national parliament in Storting in March 2011 .

In the parliamentary elections in 2009 Greni missed the direct move into Storting and she became the first Vararepresentantin , so the substitute MP of her party in the constituency of Sør-Trøndelag . As such, it was finally used from March 2011 to September 2013, as party colleague Ola Borten Moe had to suspend his mandate as a member of the government. In the 2013 election , she finally moved directly into Storting. Greni has represented her constituency there since then. Since April 2011 she has been a member of Parliament's Local and Administrative Committee. From January to April 2020, she temporarily took over the office of fourth vice-president from her party colleague Nils T. Bjørke .
