Heidi Specker

Heidi Specker (* 1962 in Damme ) is a contemporary artist who has lived and worked in Berlin since 1992 .

Life

Heidi Specker studied design and photography / film design at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences from 1984 , which she graduated in 1990 with a degree in design and visual communication. In 1991 she received a grant from the Franco-German Youth Office and in 1992 a working grant from the State of Lower Saxony. In 1995 she became a master student of Joachim Brohm at the Academy for Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig.

In 1996 Heidi Specker received the European Photography Award from Deutsche Leasing AG . In addition, she received a work grant for fine arts from the Senate Department for Science, Research and Culture, Berlin. In 1997 Specker was awarded the ars viva 97/98 - Media Art , a sponsorship award from the cultural group of the Federal Association of German Business in the BDI eV. In 1999 she received a working grant from the Kunstfonds Foundation , Bonn. In 2005 she was awarded the German Photo Prize for her book Im Garten / concrete for the exhibition of the same name in the Sprengel Museum Hannover . In 2010 Specker received a scholarship for the Villa Massimo in Rome.

Teaching

From October 2006 to September 2009 she represented the professorship for photography and media at the University of Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig, to which she returned to Villa Massimo in 2010/2011 after receiving an annual scholarship .
