Heike Hofmann (born June 30, 1973 in Groß-Gerau ) is a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Heike Hofmann studied law from 1993 to 1998 and worked as a trainee lawyer at the Darmstadt Regional Court from 1999 to 2001 . She has been a lawyer since 2002.

politics

Heike Hofmann is a member of the SPD and deputy chairwoman of the local SPD association Weiterstadt and has been chairwoman of the Darmstadt-Dieburg subdistrict committee since 2016.

Since 1997 she has been a member of the city council of Weiterstadt, where she is deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group. At the same time, she has since taken on tasks in various city committees. From 2009 to 2016 she was parliamentary group leader of the SPD Weiterstadt. Heike Hofmann has been a member of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district council since 2011.

Heike Hofmann has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since October 31, 2000. Since 2003 she has been the legal policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group, and since 2009 she has also been the spokesperson for law enforcement. Since January 2014 she has been deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2008 , she won the constituency of Darmstadt-Dieburg I with the best first vote result in southern Hesse (45.1%) and thus won the direct mandate. In the 17th electoral term, she became chair of the penal subcommittee. She was also a member of the above-mentioned committees. In the early state elections in Hesse in 2009 , like almost all constituencies still dominated by the SPD in the previous year, she was unable to achieve the direct mandate, but entered the state parliament again via the state list.

In the state parliament in the 18th electoral term, she was re-elected by her parliamentary group as spokesperson for legal policy. At the same time, she also took on the position of spokeswoman for prison policy. In addition, she is a member of the Legal and Integration Committee, the Judges' Election Committee and the Prison Subcommittee.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 , she won the constituency Darmstadt-Dieburg I again with the best first vote result in southern Hesse (40.9%) and thus won the direct mandate.

In the election of the Hessian state parliament in 2018 , Hofmann also won the direct mandate in the constituency of Darmstadt-Dieburg I. At the beginning of the 20th legislative period, she was elected Vice-President of the Hessian state parliament. She is still a member of the Legal Committee and the Environment Committee.
