Heike Horstmann (née Schmidt; born September 1, 1971 in Plettenberg ) is a former German handball player who played 168 times for the German national team. After her active career, she took over as assistant coach of the German women's national team in July 2005 . After the birth of her son in 2008, she stopped doing this job. Ten years later, the A license holder took over this post again. After the 2019 World Cup , she resigned.
