Heiko Laeziger (born June 18, 1968 in Magdeburg ) is a former German soccer player and current soccer coach . During his active career he was used as a defender , midfielder and striker and was considered a so-called all-rounder.

Soccer career

Laeäß began in 1977 in the offspring of 1. FC Magdeburg . In the 1988/89 season he was registered for the first time for the squad of the GDR Oberliga team. Previously, he had already played his first league game on September 5, 1987 in the encounter Hallescher FC Chemie - 1. FCM (2-2). By the end of the GDR Oberliga in 1991, Laessig appeared in 59 first division games for 1. FCM and scored 17 goals. After the Magdeburg team failed to qualify for paid football in 1991, he moved to Bayer Uerdingen in the 2nd Bundesliga. A year later he rose to the 1st Bundesliga with the Uerdingen. He played a total of 145 point games for the Bayer team and scored 32 goals. Laeßig's next position was in 1996 at SV Austria Salzburg in Austria. He started as a striker in Austria, but at the end of his playing career he developed into an excellent defensive player. His greatest success was winning the Austrian championship in 1997. Since July 2003 - that is, at the time of his professional career - Laessig was active in the youth care of the club. His career as a professional footballer ended in spring 2005.
