Heiko Sippel (born September 27, 1964 in Worms ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and since January 1, 2020 District Administrator of the Alzey-Worms district .

Life

Sippel completed his training as a surveying technician between 1981 and 1984 and then worked until 1992 as a civil servant in the central surveying service in the land registry . On the second educational path he finally acquired the technical college entrance qualification and studied from 1993 to 1996 at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mayen . After completing his degree in administrative management (FH), he became a civil servant at the Alzey-Worms district administration until 2008 , where he most recently worked as office manager and managing director of the economic development agency.

Sippel is married and has one child.

politics

Sippel has been a member of the SPD since 1983. From 1987 to 1991 he was chairman of the Young Socialists in the SPD sub-district of Alzey-Worms. He then became deputy chairman of the SPD city association Alzey - from 2004 to 2019 finally also chairman. Since 2008 he has been deputy chairman of the SPD subdistrict Alzey-Worms.

1990 Sippel was in the City Council of Alzey chosen retired in 1994 but again. It was not until 2003 that he moved back into the city council, where he became deputy chairman of the SPD city council faction until he was first alderman for the city of Alzey from 2006 to 2014 . He has been a member of the city council again since the 2014 local elections .

In 2009 Sippel was elected to the Alzey-Worms district assembly and was chairman of the SPD district assembly from 2014 to 2019.

From January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2019, Sippel was a member of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . In 2009 he replaced Walter Zuber in the state parliament. In the state elections in 2011 and 2016, he won the direct mandate in the Alzey constituency . During his time in the state parliament, Sippel was a member of the legal committee and the committee for economics and transport, as well as legal policy spokesman for the SPD state parliamentary group and chairman of the state data protection commission.

Heiko Sippel became District Administrator of the Alzey-Worms district on January 1, 2020. In the runoff election on June 16, 2019, he prevailed against the CDU candidate Markus Conrad with a share of 51.0% of the vote , after none of the original three applicants had achieved a sufficient majority in the direct election on May 26, 2019.
