Heiko Striegel

Heiko Striegel (born May 21, 1970 in Bietigheim ) is a German sports doctor and legal scholar . He is the deputy medical director of the sports medicine department at the Tübingen University Hospital and team doctor for the second division soccer club VfB Stuttgart .

Life

Striegel studied medicine at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . In 1996 he was awarded the title of Dr. with the work The non-invasive determination of the functional buffer capacity in the multi-stage test med. PhD . A year later, Striegel received his license to practice medicine. He acquired the additional qualification in sports medicine and in 2005 a specialist in general medicine .

From 1997 Striegel studied law in Tübingen and passed the first state examination in 2002 and the second state examination in 2004. Striegel was admitted to the bar the following year . In July 2005 VfB Stuttgart hired him as a team doctor for the Bundesliga team. On June 15, 2007 , Striegel completed his habilitation in sports medicine at the University of Tübingen. In 2008 he received his doctorate in law from the Philipps University of Marburg with his dissertation Doping in Fitness-Sport - An Analysis between Dark Field and Social Control . Heiko Striegel has been the anti-doping officer of the Baden-Württemberg state sports association and member of the legal working group of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) since 2005 .

Since 2010 he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Tübingen. He is the deputy medical director of the sports medicine department at the University Hospital Tübingen .
