In Christianity, Savior refers to Jesus Christ as the Redeemer of men in the sense of Christian salvation teaching ; besides - and according to the original meaning of the word - also generally for savior, savior and helpers. It is derived from Middle High German , Old High German and Old Saxon Heilant u. e. ago, was formed from the present participle of the verb hönen , and is a loan translation of the church Latin Salvator mundi , which is common to the West Germanic languages ​​and which in turn translates the Greek soter .

iconography
