The Heilig-Geist-Kirche is a listed Protestant church in the city of Querfurt in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is listed as a monument under registration number 094 06018 .
General
The Heilig-Geist-Kirche is located at the east exit of Querfurt, at the so-called Steinwegischer Thor, at Merseburger Straße 56 in Querfurt.
history
At the site of today's church there were originally the St. Georg and St. Johannis hospitals , which were demolished in the 19th century due to disrepair. A new building was erected that united both buildings. According to Ernst Ihle Hospital, the new hospital was called the Pure Spirit , and the church was consecrated to St. John
architecture
The architect of the church was Friedrich August Ritter . The neo-Gothic church, built as a hospital church, does not have a church tower.
