The Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche is a church building in Belecke , a district of Warstein in the Soest district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

history

The Roman Catholic church was consecrated to the Holy Cross in 1961 , its architect was Heinrich Stiegemann .

tower

The steeple of the Holy Cross Church has a circular floor plan. Its walls consist alternately of concrete supports and green sandstone masonry . Four bells hang in the top of the tower. Above the belfry, the roof forms a point and ends with a large cross. The tower, including the cross, is 55 meters high.

Bells

The church has a total of five bells. Four of them, made of cast steel, hang in the large bell tower and one in the roof turret above the nave . These five bells were consecrated on May 7, 1961 by Dechant Kühle from Altenrüthen :

Nave

The church was built in the shape of a cross in order to give visible expression to the cross. The entire nave with the altar area is about 50 meters long. There is space for around 450 worshipers and the Marienkapelle has a further 65 spaces, so that with the standing space around 700 worshipers can find space in the building.

organ

The organ has 2,170 pipes, 31 registers, and the largest organ pipe is 16 feet tall.

The architectural model for the Holy Cross Church in Belecke is the St. Norbert Church in Werl .
