Holy Blood (Altenerding)
Holy Blood is a place of pilgrimage near Altenerding in the urban area of Erding .
The Catholic pilgrimage church of the Holy Blood is a hall with a retracted choir and attached sacristy , a small roof turret with an onion dome . It is essentially late Gothic and was largely rebuilt by Hans Kogler in 1675. The well chapel is an octagonal building with pronounced pilasters and a tent roof by Hans Kogler, 1701. The pilgrimage church is a protected cultural asset under the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict . The church has been closed since the end of December 2015 due to cracks in the masonry.
The Heilig Blut girls' secondary school in the former castle was founded by the poor school sisters in 1896 and has been run since 1972 under the sponsorship of the Archbishop's Ordinariate in Munich and Freising .
