Holy Trinity (Ruthe)

Holy Trinity is the Catholic Church in Ruthe , a district of Sarstedt in the Hildesheim district in Lower Saxony . It is located at Ruther Straße 3 and is named after the Trinity , a truth of faith of the Catholic Church . The church belongs to the parish Heilig Geist with seat in Sarstedt, and thus to the deanery Borsum-Sarstedt of the diocese Hildesheim .

history

After the episcopal Ruthe Castle with the castle church, built by Clemens August von Bayern in 1751–55 according to plans by the Hildesheim master builder Hoefer, burned down on May 14, 1891, construction of the current church began in 1896 on the foundations of the old castle church. She was consecrated on May 27, 1897 . On November 9th of the same year, the Catholic school next to the church went into operation; it no longer exists today.

Since December 1, 2002, the church has belonged to the then newly founded deanery Borsum-Sarstedt, previously it belonged to the deanery Förste-Sarstedt, which was founded in 1978. Since September 1st, 2010 the church belongs to the parish Heilig Geist in Sarstedt. There is also a Catholic cemetery in Ruthe.

Architecture and equipment

The two-aisled Gothic church is a brick building built on a sandstone base. It is located around 62 meters above sea level , only around 150 meters from the leash . Your organ was built in 1897 by Emil Hammer Orgelbau , modified in 1975 and restored in 2009.
