Holy Family is a Catholic parish church in Block , a district of Neuwied in Rhineland-Palatinate , which was built from 1958 to 1960. The church is characterized by its large areas with concrete glass windows .

location

The church is on Mittelweg in the center of Block. The parsonage and kindergarten of the parish were built behind the church.

history

With the influx of expellees after 1945, the number of Catholics in Block increased considerably. They now wanted to have their own church, which they built with a lot of work from 1958 to 1960.

architecture

On the forecourt of the church is the free-standing bell tower on the left . The portal side is almost entirely taken up by the concrete glass window with the representation of the Holy Family . The windows in the chancel are designed abstractly.

Furnishing

The bronze sculptor Arnold Morkramer designed the tabernacle , the cross, the candlesticks and the Way of the Cross from Bruchertseifen .
