The local history and brewery museum is the local history museum of the market town of Pleinfeld in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . It is located in the old bailiwick castle and contains the first brewery museum in Middle Franconia.
history
In 1984 the municipality of Pleinfeld set up a local history museum in the old bailiwick to mark the 500th anniversary of the Pleinfeld market rights granted in 1486 . Since the brewing trade in Pleinfeld has a long, now forgotten tradition, the museum was expanded to include the area of brewing . This department is located on the top floor of the museum.
The local history museum shows evidence of local history since the Middle Ages, a photo exhibition "Alt-Pleinfeld", craft rooms, farm equipment, plows, carriages and sleighs, painted cupboards and old costumes, sacred art objects and a forestry collection. There are two old tower clocks in the stairwell . A device from the earlier land surveying , the Reichenbach distance meter , is also on display. In the brewery department, equipment and materials for beer production and transport, such as kegs and bottles, are shown.
