Hein Heckroth stage design award
The Hein Heckroth stage design prize is a culture prize which is reminiscent of the painter and stage designer Hein Heckroth and which focuses on the art genre of stage design. The award is given to stage designers who creatively incorporate the discussion of the visual arts into their work.
The award is presented every two years as part of a ceremony in the Stadttheater Gießen by the Hein Heckroth Society together with the State of Hesse and the City of Gießen. The main prize is endowed with 5000 euros. The special feature of this award is that the last winner suggests the next. The city of Giessen donates the prize money for the sponsorship prize of 2500 euros.
