Live and act

Mader, the son of a carpenter, fled with his family from Lower Austria to Dienten am Hochkönig in 1945. He studied sculpture with Gustav Resatz in Salzburg. Among other things, the war memorial in Lend, on which they worked together, was created during this time. After the divorce from his first wife (his two children Heinz and Gertrud were born from this marriage), he lived in Amsterdam from 1960 , where he worked, among other things, at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten . Since the late 1980s he became, after an exhibition of his works in Leeuwarden , the Frisian Mantgum resident.

During his creative period, Mader made around 300 sculptures from different metals, but also sculptures from stone and wood. The majority is combined in a foundation.
