Heiner Müller-Merbach

Heiner Müller-Merbach (born June 28, 1936 in Hamburg ; † May 30, 2015 ) was a German business IT specialist .

Life

Müller-Merbach studied industrial engineering at the TH Darmstadt (today TU Darmstadt ). After a doctorate (1962) and habilitation (1967) at the TH Darmstadt, he was appointed professor for business administration at the University of Mainz in 1967 and in 1972 as professor for business administration and operations research at the TH Darmstadt. In 1983 he moved to the University of Kaiserslautern and became professor for business informatics (an earlier term for business informatics ) and operations research . In 2004 he retired .

In Kaiserslautern, he was particularly involved in strengthening and developing the industrial engineering course. He also initiated and directed Extra , the start-up training.

In research, Müller-Merbach dealt with operations research, business IT and organizational intelligence . For many years he was the editor of the magazine t & m (Technologie & Management) of the Association of German Industrial Engineers .

Heiner Müller-Merbach was buried in the old cemetery in Darmstadt.
