Geographical location

The bath is located north of the palace gardens between Eugen-Kaiser-Straße and Kinzig . The owner is Hanau Bäder GmbH , which is 100% owned by the City of Hanau.

Furnishing

The indoor pool has a 25 meter long pool with 1 and 3 meter high diving towers, and there is also a toddler pool. The outdoor pool is generously equipped with a diving pool and a 10 meter high diving tower, a 73 meter long large slide, a 50 meter long swimming pool and a 25 meter long non-swimmer pool. There are also water cannons, massage jets, cascade showers, a flow channel, as well as barbecue and play facilities. The Heinrich-Fischer-Bad also offers a sauna.

Reinhold Ewald , among others, was involved in equipping the facility and in the art of building .

history

The Heinrich-Fischer-Bad was built from 1956 to 1959 as a project of the then mayor of Hanau, Heinrich Fischer . Two years later the outdoor pool also opened, making the Heinrich-Fischer-Bad the first bathing facility in Germany to combine indoor and outdoor pools.

The striking building shapes the cityscape due to its size. The size is due to the geological conditions on site; the building had to be laid out at ground level and so the swimming pool of the indoor pool is three meters above street level.

The Heinrich-Fischer-Bad is a cultural monument according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act for artistic, technical, urban planning and historical reasons .
