Heinrich Adolf Rinne

Heinrich Adolf Rinne (born January 24, 1819 in Vlotho ; † July 26, 1868 in Hildesheim ) was a German otologist working in Göttingen .

In 1855 he published the Rinne experiment , which was later named after him , an examination method for hearing tests. In this work ( Contributions to the Physiology of the Human Ear ) he described the anatomy and physiology of sound conduction at the ear, as well as 22 different tests for the function of the same, including the now known Rinne test.
