Heinrich Beck (geologist)

Heinrich Beck (born December 22, 1880 in Vienna ; † December 2/3, 1979 in Vienna- Ottakring ) was an Austrian geologist .

Beck studied at the University of Vienna , where he received his PhD in 1903. phil. received his doctorate. From 1903 to 1941 he worked at the Geological Reich and Federal Institute in Vienna. Most recently he was chief geologist there (Bergrat). From 1938 to 1941 he was acting head of the Federal Institute, which was then renamed the Vienna branch of the Reich Office for Soil Research , and then retired.

Beck also carried out paleontological-stratigraphic studies. He was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery .
