Heinrich Blanc

Heinrich Blanc (born December 11, 1896 in Großvillars ; † April 8, 1960 ) was a German entrepreneur who founded the Blanco group of companies that now operates worldwide and who headed it for a long time.

family

Heinrich Blanc was the son of the Wagner Jakob Blanc and his wife Wilhelmine Jakobine nee Servay. He grew up in Großvillars , a village that was founded around 1700 as a Waldensian settlement. The French surname Blanc means white when translated. Heinrich Blanc married Else Häcker on August 20, 1921. From this marriage three daughters and the son Heinz († January 28, 1978) were born.

Training and military service

After elementary school , Heinrich Blanc completed a commercial apprenticeship at the stove factory MA Lämmle (MALAG) in Bretten , where he worked until 1915. From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Ventures

BLANCO

In 1925 Heinrich Blanc founded the company "Blanc & Co. Metallwarenfabrik Oberderdingen" together with August Treffinger, who left the company after four years. The series production of water ships for coal stoves began and soon 30 people were employed. In 1927 a modern factory building was built and in 1934 the number of employees rose to over a hundred.

During the Second World War , parts were made for the armaments industry .

At the beginning of the 1950s, stainless steel became the company's most important material. a. Kitchen sinks, saucepans and medical technology products were manufactured. The production of equipment for large kitchens began.

EGO

Together with Karl Fischer (1893–1985), Heinrich Blanc founded EGO Elektro-Gerätebau GmbH in Oberderdingen on September 10, 1931 .

Economic boom

Heinrich Blanc was in an internment camp from October 18, 1945 to December 24, 1946 . After the denazification process, he was able to take over the management of his company again. To this day, the stainless steel sink remains the best-known product of his group of companies named after him, which had more than two thousand employees when he died in 1960.
