Heinrich Buchenauer (born February 20, 1940 in Warzenbach ) is a German agricultural scientist, particularly phytomedicine , he is emeritus of the University of Hohenheim .

Life

After attending elementary school in Warzenbach and grammar school in Laasphe with a final examination (1961), he completed an agricultural apprenticeship in Walsrode and Rauischholzhausen with a final exam.

This was followed by studying agricultural sciences at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Georg August University in Göttingen with a diploma in 1966. From January 1967 on, Buchenauer was a doctoral candidate under Friedrich Großmann at the Institute for Phytopathology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. With the presented dissertation The Influence of Growth Regulators and Chemically Related Compounds on Various Tomato Diseases , he was awarded a Dr. agr. PhD.

From 1970 to 1972 he was Erwin's research assistant at the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of California , USA, from 1972 research assistant to Großmann at the chair for phytopathology and plant protection at the University of Hohenheim and from 1979 research assistant to Heinrich Carl Weltzien at the Institute for Plant diseases from the University of Bonn . In June 1970 the University of Bonn was awarded the Venia Legendi for the subject "Plant Diseases and Plant Protection" with the habilitation thesis Investigations on the mode of action and behavior of various fungicides in fungi and cultivated plants .

In 1984 Buchenauer was appointed professor for plant protection and plant diseases at the University of Hanover . In 1992 he accepted a professorship for phytomedicine at the Institute for Phytomedicine at the University of Hohenheim. Heinrich Buchenauer has been retired since 2005.

Heinrich Buchenauer is with Doris Buchenauer, geb. Fechner, married; they have a grown son.

  • Side effects of modern fungicides on the metabolism of plants
  • Development of resistance of fungal pathogens to fungicides with specific mechanisms of action
  • Synergistic interactions of fungicides
  • Mechanisms of action of substances that intervene in pathogenesis processes
  • Effect of silicates on plant diseases
  • Antagonism and hyperparasitism of selected fungi against fungal pathogens
  • Activation of resistance in plants to virus, bacterial and fungal diseases through synthetic and biological inducers
  • Potato resistance to Potato virus Y
  • Characterization of non-host resistance in viroses
  • Antiviral Mechanisms of Action of Glucans
