Heinrich Bukow (lawyer)

Heinrich Bukow , also Buckow , called junior or the younger (* around 1470, † after 1537 ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Heinrich Bukow came from an influential Greifswald council family. The former rector of the Greifswald University Heinrich Bukow was his uncle. He studied at the University of Bologna around 1490 , and later also in Ferrara . At the University of Greifswald , he was from Heinrich Mulert to the doctor of canon law doctorate . He later held a professorship at the law faculty of the University of Greifswald and was rector of the university several times.

Under the influence of Heinrich Bukow and Wichmann Kruse , the university was hostile to the Reformation . In 1537, three years after the introduction of the Reformation in Pomerania , Bukow bequeathed his entire fortune to the Catholic Church in a will.
