Heinrich Christian Motz

Heinrich Christian Motz (born May 15, 1761 in Bremen ; † December 3, 1832 in Bremen) was a lawyer and senator for the city of Bremen .

biography

Motz was a grandson of the commandant of Bremen, Christoph Ludwig Motz , and a son of the lawyer Werner Christian Motz and Adelheid Motz, geb. Dünsing. He was married to the senator's daughter Margarethe Meinertzhagen and both had five children. The pedagogue Wilhelm Dethard Motz was a nephew.

From 1779 he graduated from the Illustre high school in Bremen. After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Marburg from 1782 and received his doctorate in 1785. jur. He was then a lawyer in Bremen. In 1792 he became a senator in Bremen . In 1811 he was a provisional municipal councilor for 6 months during the French period in Bremen and then again from the end of 1813 as a senator until his death.
