Heinrich Froitzheim (painter, 1875)
Heinrich Froitzheim (born February 26, 1875 in Wickrath , † February 29, 1944 in Kevelaer ) was a German painter.
Heinrich Froitzheim first learned the profession of decorative painter in his father's business. Around 1895 he painted the church in Wickrath. From 1897 he lived in Kevelaer. Froitzheim studied painting from 1896 at the Düsseldorf School of Applied Arts , in the painting school of Lovis Corinth in Berlin and from April 30, 1904 to 1906 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich in the drawing school of Karl Raupp .
After completing his studies, he returned to Kevelaer and became a co-founder of the Kevelaer Künstlerbund, of which he remained a member until around 1924. In 1911 he married the pianist Johanna Buch (1881–1973) from Cologne.
In 1919 Froitzheim was elected chairman of the Kevelaer men's choir and held the post until 1932.
He became the father of Herbert Froitzheim (* 1912, † 1981), Wolfgang Froitzheim (* 1914, † 1976), Rudolf Froitzheim (* 1916, † 1918) and Brigitte Froitzheim (* 1925, † 2010).
