Heinrich Günthert

Heinrich Günthert (born April 3, 1907 in Landau in the Palatinate ; † unknown) was a German railway official.

Career

Günthert completed his studies with a degree in engineering. During the Second World War he was the head of the repair works of the Eastern Railway in the Generalgouvernement and in this function the highest superior of Simon Wiesenthal , who was assigned to forced labor there. Although a National Socialist, he saved Wiesenthal and other forced laborers' lives and was invited by Wiesenthal in 1965 to the wedding celebration of his daughter Paulinka. From June 30, 1959 to April 30, 1972 he was President of the Karlsruhe Federal Railway Directorate .
