Heinrich Georg (born September 10, 1918 in Langenau, a district of Buschhütten , city of Kreuztal ; † December 19, 2008 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Before and after his conscription as a soldier in World War II , Georg was trained as a master craftsman in his parents' one-man business for cutting, drawing and embossing tools . He took over this company on June 20, 1948 , the day of the currency reform, and invested his "head money" of 30 DM in the company.

In the evening he designed what was to be made in the small workshop the next day. The company grew. In addition to building up the company, Georg studied and became an engineer. With his inventions he revolutionized the metal processing that had been common up until then. With the development of a rebar straightening machine and the invention of a worldwide patented Liliput scissors, he developed the first automatic straightening and cutting system in 1953.

The Heinrich Georg Maschinenfabrik company grew into a globally networked company that is still completely family-owned today and has 300 employees at the Buschhütten site alone. The company has an annual turnover of 80 million euros and, in addition to Germany, is active in neighboring Europe, Russia, China and India. Georg ran this company until 1983, after which he passed the business on to his son Gerd.

In addition, Georg held several offices and honorary posts in the city, region and district . He was the head master of the mechanics' guild of the Siegen district handicrafts , chairman of the board of the Siegen guild health insurance fund, member of the supervisory board of the Volksbank Siegen and a promoter of local football.

In 1979 Georg received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, in 1988 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. The city of Kreuztal made him an honorary citizen on January 31, 2004 and awarded him the ring of honor.
