Heinrich Gran (French Henri Gran , active 1489 - 1527 in Haguenau ) was a German printer of incunabula . Alongside Johannes Mentelin and Heinrich Eggestein , he is considered the most important pioneer of book printing in Alsace .

Little is known about Gran's life except that he introduced printing in Hagenau, a town that was more important then than it is today. Between 1501 and 1527 he printed 213 works, mainly theological content. Many of his print products were intended for the Hungarian book market . The Hagenau City Library has a fund of around 40 incunabula from Gran's workshop, which are signed with the monogram “HG” and occasionally show the Hagenau rose. Gran seems to have occasionally carried out assignments in collaboration with the somewhat younger Thomas Anshelm . Among other things, Gran printed the so-called dark man letters .
