Heinrich Hermann von Kerckerinck zu Stapel ( April 2, 1632 , † July 17, 1684 ) was a canon and dean in Fritzlar .

Life

Origin and family

As the son of Bernhard zu Giesking (* 1596) and his wife Richmod von Buck zu Sentmaring (* 1626), Heinrich Hermann von Kerckerinck grew up together with his brothers Johann (1627–1700, Canon in St. Mauritz in Münster), Matthias ( 1628–1684, Amtsdroste in Bruchsal), Bertold Theodor (1640–1709, chamberlain) and Wilhelm Lambert (1645–1676, court cavalier in Baden-Baden and Hesse and canons in Aschaffenburg) in the old Westphalian patrician family von Kerckerinck .

Career and work

After attending the Jesuit grammar school in Münster and the universities in Paderborn and Cologne , Heinrich Hermann became a canon in St. Peter's Cathedral in Fritzlar at the end of 1660 . Here he was appointed dean on December 23, 1680 . A year later he gave up in order to open up the possibility of becoming his brother's successor. He died of a broken neck after jumping from a horse-drawn cart. He is buried in the parish church in Dossenheim, where his epitaph is.
