Johann von Kerckerinck zu Stapel (born January 11, 1627 , † August 24, 1700 ) was cathedral vicar in the prince-bishopric of Münster .

Life

Johann von Kerckerinck zu Stapel grew up together with his brothers Matthias (1628–1684, Amtsdroste in Bruchsal), Bertold Theodor (1640–1709, Chamberlain), Heinrich Hermann (1632–1684, canon in St. Mauritz in Münster ) and Wilhelm Lambert ( 1645–1676, canon in Aschaffenburg) as the son of Bernhard zu Giesking (* 1596) and his wife Richmod von Buck zu Sentmaring (* 1626) in the Westphalian patrician family von Kerckerinck .

With the receipt of the tonsure on December 19, 1641, Johann was prepared for a spiritual life. He received the minor orders on August 15, 1645. On the recommendation of the Nuncio Fabio Chigi , he studied at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and left this on September 23, 1651 as a subdeacon. Since his cousin Jacob Everwin Drolshagen in Münster on his canonicate waived , it took Johann August 2, 1655 possession. The following year he became cathedral vicar in Münster . Elected to thesaurary on July 29, 1675 , he resigned from this office on August 21, 1679 after a four-year term. The cathedral chapter decided on November 15, 1680 to elect a new thesuarian. In Münster Cathedral , his epitaph, which no longer exists was.
